ABOUT
The Rock Hill Sports Commission is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to promote Sports Tourism in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Their primary goals are: to promote economic development and recruitment through sporting events; aid in the development of premiere amateur sporting facilities; and facilitate local, national and international amateur sporting events.
GOALS
Economic Development and Recruitment
Promoting Rock Hill as a location for holding sporting events to enhance the City’s economic development through, among other things, daily and overnight tourism, job opportunities, entertainment, business development, and national and international exposure.
Developing means of attracting and locating sports governing bodies and sport-related industries to the area.
Development of Premiere Facilities
Promoting the development, construction and implementation of elite athletic opportunities through new facilities and related infrastructure, and the improvement of existing facilities in the City by encouraging the issuance of bonds, notes or other obligations to finance the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation or expansion of such facilities.
Event Facilitation
Sponsoring recreation, physical fitness and sports workshops, clinic, conferences and other similar activities that directly or indirectly promote overnight visitors to the area; to helping develop, foster and create services, facilities and programs for physical fitness, to enlist the support of individuals, civic groups, amateur sports associations, and others with similar interests and goals as the commission.
In all endeavors, promote participation by local citizens of all ages to foster a healthy community.
We seek to meet the highest ideals of "sport" and to one day produce an Olympic Champion from Rock Hill.
